The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to take the lead across our multi-brand finance operations. You’ll manage a talented team of 8, including our Payroll Administrator and Finance Manager, ensuring everything from management accounts to audits is accurate, timely, and fully compliant.

This role isn’t just about numbers – it’s about enabling growth, improving processes, and partnering with our operational teams to drive commercial success.

What You’ll Be Doing

Financial Reporting & Control

  • Deliver monthly management accounts: drafts within 5 days, finalised within 10
  • Lead year-end statutory accounts and liaise with auditors
  • Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and up to date


Compliance & Regulation

  • Oversee VAT, PAYE, NI, and all HMRC obligations
  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and processes
  • Maintain adherence to UK accounting standards


Audit & Reconciliation

  • Lead external audits as the main liaison
  • Monitor balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly


Commercial & Strategic Support

  • Drive annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and reforecasts
  • Deliver financial insights to support key business decisions
  • Champion process improvement and automation across finance and operations
  • Support system implementation and optimisation for our multi-brand business


What We Need

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Experience at a Top 10 firm or similar preferred
  • Previous experience in hospitality, multi-site, or retail sectors highly advantageous
  • Proven leader and developer of finance teams
  • Familiarity with Sage 200, Fourth Hospitality, Novus AI, Stockade (preferred)
  • Analytical, detail-focused, and excellent communicator
